Bingo !

Ahhhh I like the sound of that…..BINGO ! It has been an exciting day as my first step has borne fruit (if you don’t know what I am talking about then go here first bud: http://insearchofexcellence.wordpress.com/2008/07/29/the-first-step/). Yeap, the billionaire dude I sent my service proposal to responded ! Did we hear that right? Did I just say that a billionaire with a gazzillion things on his mind responded to the little guy? Yeap yeap yeap. Wow…..I mean wow ! I mean a fucking WOW !

Ok…so what went right – must be something about my pitch and ofcourse my service. I think it’s mainly my pitch as the service I am offering is not rocket science and I am not re-inventing the wheel exactly. So let’s keep that up chums and replicate it.

But first – I need to deliver to this guy first and seal the deal. A bird in hand is better than twenty in the bush. And if he likes me, then maybe I get an intro to his billionaire friends? After all, birds of a feather flock together. Aarrrhhhgg….enough with the birds…..let’s go get that $10 million !

Just do it

Well, so I hit the guy up yesterday only to find he is on vacation ! And here I was thinking whether or not to contact him in the first place. Lesson learnt: Do, just do. There is no think, only do. (I think Confucius said something of the sort…..or was it Yoda?)

The first step

Today I am going to take the first step towards uncharterted waters. In other words I am going to try and pitch my service/idea to a company and I am going to start at the top. Why not try to reach the top guy and see if he is interested – if not – then I move on to the second step and pitch it to another person. Let’s see how many steps it’s going to take to make a sale? Hmmm……I think probably less than 20 and if it’s more then there is something wrong with my pitch (preferably it should be less than 10). The guy I am pitching to today is a billionaire and a very well known VC and evangelist. Will he bite or will he bail. We shall see.

Another day

Unfortunately, I’ve been feeling very un-motivated to do anything lately. All day today – did not spend a second towards the goals. Why? Why am I just drifting…..like dead wood in the river getting thrashed around by the current. Why do I feel so helpless. Is it because my goals are too far stretched. Or is it because I am just lazy. I believe it is the latter. I believe I am not a quitter. I believe I am a winner. I will win. I will make something of my myself. I will be successful. I will be very very successful. I am the best…..the very best. At what? That remains to be seen but I believe I am really good at something. I am determined to succeed and achieve my goals. I will achieve my goals. $10 million – here I come.

I had a dream…..

Interesting dream I had last night. I was reading about an interview with this Founder/CEO of a well known company and then went to sleep. While sleeping I dreamt that I was in a conference room sitting across this CEO who says:

“Do you still think that you can do anything, or do you think you can do just one thing but do it very well”?

That’s it. Obviously I am a little confused by this. Perhaps it’s a sign.. a message.. a hint? Time will tell but I sure am going to ponder this one over the weekend mates.

Mid-week

Well, it’s Wednesday evening and nothing much has happened this week. Spent some time in cultivating some contacts which is good. Mainly busy at work. Hmmm…..how about finishing up (or really starting) that business plan that is going to make that $10 million a reality. Now that would be good. I have the idea…..but do I have the motivation? We shall see.

New week

Tomorrow is Monday all over again. The weekend was not as productive as I hoped. Wasted time and money – and I am not sure which one is more important….I guess both are. Long brisk walk today which was good. Let’s look ahead.

Ah, yes, let’s look ahead. Tomorrow begins another day, another chance, another opportunity. Let’s wake up early and go get what we want. Try, try, try – it will happen.

Ok – so I borrowed the post title from Heath Ledger’s joker character in the new Batman movie. Something menacing about the way he says it, but, it’s a bit inspiring when the loud music starts with all the special effects. I guess the point is to pump the character. Hopefully I’ll see this Batman movie tomorrow.

Today was busy at work and I did’nt ‘go’ anywhere. Well, productive at work, actually, quite productive. But it’s freakin’ never ending ! I hope to clean up my work plate over the weekend.

Now back to the goals – gym for a bit and a little reading. Yesterday I read about this guy who started his company and it’s become a very profitable venture. It was basically an interview with this founder who talks about creating value-add products and charging every penny possible for that penny. I got so charged that I could’nt go to sleep. Something about success stories (and biographies) charges me up (so better not read these at night !). If I can only harness that power……

Slow start…

Slow start today. Not sure why as I woke up early but as the day is going – I feel the urge to get some stuff done.

But first – status update: yesterday’s goals? Done.

Today, let’s apply the mind and figure out a way to get to the $10 million. The gym is a must and so is some good reading. Also, aim for a happy and winning attitude.

UPDATE, 5:45PM: Well, the day sure picked up. Super busy at work and still more to do. Hmmm, I need to figure out a way to balance work (and make money for a living) and go for my goals. Met a guy who knows a couple of founders who sold their company to Netscape for $95 million in 1999. Both these guys were in their mid twenties. Hmmm……am I shooting too low with my goal of $10 million in one year?

Time to hit the gym and hangout with the girlfriend. More thinking then chaps.

The beginning

Today we (really me, myself, and I, but anyone is welcome to tag along) start on this quest. It’s the end of the day and I really don’t know where it went. Let’s try to salvage what’s left of it – hit the gym for an hour, and read something useful for 30mins. In what’s left, plan for tomorrow…..
